Exploring EFL Teachers' and Learners' Perception of L2 Humor: A Case Study of Iranian English Language Institutes

چکیده

The present paper deals with the perception of Iranian EFL teachers and learners in using humor language classrooms. To this end, 10 English classes a population 70 female male students 5 institutes Esfahan were observed during spring summer 2019. Using an ethnographic approach, data collected through observation interview. results showed that both had positive attitude towards use L2 classroom. Language reasoned having sense is one important qualities teacher should possess. acknowledged effects such as reducing distance between learners, lowering learners' anxiety, boosting retention lesson, well increasing their concentration motivation. Moreover, preference for humor, course-related L1 norm-oriented types
